How it goes
From your first call to your first session
You call us
Tell us what is going on. No forms first, just a conversation. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
We sit down with you before we meet your child
The assessment opens with an interview with you. You know things about your child that no assessment will surface on its own, and we would rather start there.
We meet your child
A BCBA, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, spends time with your child across a few appointments, mostly playing, watching what they can already do and writing it down.
We write the report and send it for approval
A full report, with the behaviour plan and the goals in it, goes to your insurer or regional center. Chasing that is our job, not yours.
We go through it with you, then find your schedule
Your Assistant Clinical Manager walks you through the report and the plan. Our scheduling team then matches a therapist to your child and to the week you actually have.
Therapy starts, and nobody arrives as a stranger
Your Assistant Clinical Manager comes to the first session to introduce your technician and go through the plan again. The first weeks are about your child liking the person who walks in. That is not a delay, it is what makes the rest work.

What it takes to start
Who we can take on
- A child with an autism diagnosis or a developmental disorder, or an assessment to confirm ABA is the right fit.
- A family able to be present for sessions and willing to carry the goals into the rest of the week.
- Coverage through commercial insurance, Medi-Cal, or a regional center case.
- Somewhere in Riverside County or the Coachella Valley that we can reach.
If you are not sure you meet all of that, call anyway. Working out whether we are the right fit is what the first call is for, and it costs nothing.
Setting a session up to go well
Four small things that make a real difference
- A child who is rested and has eaten. Almost every difficult session we see starts with one of those missing.
- A gap after screen time rather than a session that begins the moment the iPad goes away.
- A parent or guardian there for the session, which is where you pick up the steps you will use the rest of the week.
- Somewhere safe and reasonably clear to work, and any materials the plan calls for.
How long it takes
What sets the pace
The order never changes. The speed does, and most of what moves it sits outside our hands. Rather than quote you a number we might miss, here is what it actually depends on.
- How quickly your plan or regional center answers us. This is usually the longest wait, and it is the one we chase hardest.
- Whether a diagnosis is already in place. If it is not, that step comes first, and we will explain how that route works in California.
- How many visits your child needs before a BCBA can write a plan worth following. Some children settle in one; some need three.
- What hours are open near you at the time of day you need them.
Ask us where yours stands at any point and we will tell you. If something is stuck, you will hear it from us rather than having to chase it.
What to have ready
None of this is required to call
- Your insurance card, or your regional center case number.
- Diagnosis paperwork, even if it is old or unfinished.
- Any recent school reports or an IEP, if there is one.
- The two or three moments in your week that are hardest.
- Times of day that actually work for your family.
What you are agreeing to
Nothing, until you say so
The call is free. The coverage check is free. You can stop at any point, including after the assessment, and you will not be billed for changing your mind. If you decide we are not right for your family, tell us and we will help you find someone who is.
When it takes longer
Three things that add weeks, and what we do about them
No diagnosis yet
Most plans will not authorise therapy without one. We will tell you how the diagnostic route works in California and who is currently seeing children quickly. Call us during that wait rather than after it.
Your plan is slow to answer
Some are. We chase them, and we will tell you where it is stuck. If it stalls badly we will lay out your options, including going elsewhere.
The hours you need are not free yet
Availability changes by town and by time of day. We will give you the real wait for your area on the first call, not after you have already been assessed.

Ready to make the call?
It is a phone call. Nothing is decided on it.
